AGAPE Receives Grants From Reynolds & Reynolds and GE Money

AGAPE FOR YOUTH, INC. RECEIVES GRANTS FROM REYNOLDS & REYNOLDS AND GE MONEY

DAYTON – November 26, 2013 – Agape for Youth, Inc. is awarded grants from two foundations within the Dayton Community. 

“I want to thank Reynolds & Reynolds Associate Foundation and GE Money for their support of our agency and the work we are doing to serve the children and families of our community”, said Stephen Geib, Agape for Youth, Inc. Executive Director and Founder.  “These funds will provide additional opportunities to make a positive impact in continuing our mission to serve families and youth with excellence.”

 

In receiving the Reynolds and Reynolds Associate Foundation Grant, Agape will be able to provide Comfort Bags to children when they come into foster care at Agape.  These bags include personal care items, a blanket, stuffed animal and school supplies.

 

The grant from GE Money will be used for quarterly financial education classes for the families and teenage youth being served through Agape’s foster care and reunification programs.  These trainings will include lessons on budgeting, financially preparing for independence and how to access financial services.

 

Agape for Youth, Inc., 2010 Better Business Bureau Eclipse Integrity Award winner, provides foster care, adoption and reunification services in southwest Ohio.  Agape was founded in 1989 in order to place children into foster homes which could guide and support youth in becoming successful members of society.  Over the years Agape expanded its services to include family foster care, adoption services and ongoing supportive services to adoptive families.  In 2008, Agape was awarded a contract to offer reunification services; working with families whose children making the transition from out of home care back to their biological family.  Agape for Youth, Inc. currently has a foster parent base of more than 80 families.  The Agape offices are located at 2621 Dryden Road in Dayton, Ohio.
