AGAPE Receives Payless Gives Shoes 4 Kids Grant
AGAPE FOR YOUTH, INC. WILL PROVIDE FREE SHOES TO CHILDREN THEY SERVE THROUGH PAYLESS GIVES™ SHOES 4 KIDS HOLIDAY GIVING PROGRAM.
Dayton, Ohio, December 9,2013 — AGAPE FOR YOUTH, INC. is pleased to announce that we have been selected as an official partner of Payless GivesTM Shoes 4 Kids, an annual giving program from Payless ShoeSource. We are among the charitable agencies representing all 50 states in the United States, as well as Canada, Puerto Rico and 11 Latin American countries that have been selected as a Payless Gives Partner. Agape for Youth, Inc. will be distributing merchandise certificates for children’s shoes to the families served through their foster care and reunification services programs.
“Being selected as a Payless Gives Partner is an honor for our organization”, said Stephen Geib, Executive Director/Founder of Agape for Youth, Inc. “This donation will further assist us in our vision of serving families, youth and each other with excellence.”
“Our partnerships with businesses in the local community have been and continue to be greatly appreciated and are pivotal to our success of serving the families and children of the Miami Valley” said Randy Pavlak, Agape for Youth, Inc. Board of Directors President. I believe it is a privilege to be a part of an organization that is dedicated to working with families and children in our community, an agency that is a not only inspiring, but uplifting”
Agape for Youth, Inc., 2010 Better Business Bureau Eclipse Integrity Award winner, provides foster care, adoption and reunification services in southwest Ohio. Agape was founded in 1989 in order to place children into foster homes which could guide and support youth in becoming successful members of society. Over the years Agape expanded its services to include family foster care, adoption services and ongoing supportive services to adoptive families. In 2008, Agape was awarded a grant, and began offering reunification services; working with families whose children are making the transition from out of home care back to their biological family.
This is the sixth year of the Payless GivesTM Shoes 4 Kids program. Although studies show that properly fitting shoes are important for children’s health and development, a striking number of children don’t own a pair of shoes that fit. We are working to remedy that here in Ohio.
By helping families who struggle to provide their children with basic essentials on a daily basis, Agape for Youth, Inc. in partnering with the Payless GivesTM Shoes 4 Kids program, hopes to relieve some of the stress parents feel during the holidays and bring joy to as many children as possible.
